Hello and welcome to the newest Junior B Hockey franchise
of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League. (VIJHL).
We are looking to sign our first 22 players for the upcoming
season 2005/06.
The Sooke Stingers are looking for the right mix of players,
It is important for us to be able to develop your playing
skill and prepare you for the next level of Hockey, as a development
league you need to be dedicated, and have the desire to achieve
all that you can. The Sooke Stingers also have a five
(5) player Affiliate with the Victoria Salsa of The Junior
A league. As a Stinger you will get the opportunity
to practice with this team on regular basis.
This promises to be an exciting and rewarding first season,
for the 22 players who make it through the following. Dry
land testing, where you will be required to run a timed shuttle
run, and complete as many push ups and sit-ups in one minute
for each exercise as you can. Conditioning camp, and main
camp. Which will be held at the SEAPARC Arena in Sooke, on
the 21 to 27 August 2005. The town of Sooke is just 35 km
west of Victoria.
This growing community of 11,000, which is scheduled
to increase by the same number in the next five years.
Has opened its arms, and town to the Newest Junior Hockey
team to enter the league in eight years, and are proud
to be part of it. If you are successful you will get
many opportunities to practice your public interaction
with the good people of Sooke in the months ahead.
